Working with themes of death, divination and the otherworld, ‘UNEARTH’, seeks to investigate the fragility of human existence through theories of the unconscious, delving into witchcraft, shamanism, mythology and necromancy. Drawing from mortuary customs, rituals and feminine spiritual practices, the lens-based work is influenced by personal experiences with grief, extensive hospitalisation, and religious indoctrination. The project aims to challenge the Western perception of death and commends the death positivity movement.
